Jill A. Murray, PSY.D.

Dr. Jill A. Murray is one of the nation’s leading experts on unhealthy relationships. In addition to The Empowered Woman’s Guide to Divorce, she is the author of three full-length books on the subject, among them But I Love Him, But He Never Hit Me, and Destructive Relationships, as well as seven short ebooks. 

Dr. Murray has appeared on more than 450 television shows, including Oprah, 20/20, Montel, Anderson Cooper 360º and several other shows on CNN, Dr. Phil, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. She has also lent her expertise to more than 300 radio programs. Her work has been featured in hundreds of print and online magazines and newspapers.

Dr. Murray has spoken before Congress on behalf of a teen dating violence bill, which passed unanimously, and has also spoken twice at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.  She is a charter member of the governing council of MTV’s A Thin Line campaign, as well as participating in several other campaigns that involve creating healthy relationships.

Dr. Murray is a highly sought-after presenter at national and international conferences on relationships and has taught courses on relationships at the graduate level. She is frequently called upon as an expert witness in court proceedings revolving around destructive relationships and their effect on children.

Adam R. Dodge is a former divorce attorney who now devotes his career to empowering women to represent themselves in family law proceedings. Adam is frequently featured in or contributes to print and online news articles for media outlets, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, SELF Magazine, The Orange County Register, and others.  He also writes for the Huffington Post.  Adam’s television and radio appearances include Dr. Phil and he is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at law schools, universities, and national conferences.  He is Legal Director of Laura’s House, where he works to advocate for the legal rights of domestic violence survivors and their children. The Empowered Woman’s Guide to Divorce is his first book.
